The happiness is almost tangible as they walk off the stage arm in arm, their family trailing behind.
But you know the story. You know what comes next. Your mind has already traveled ahead to what is to come. The happiness is quickly shattered with war. They must flee for their lives! Their home, their lives, their money, their heaven... all lost. All they have is each other.
And as they top that first hill, you look once more into the future. A new country lies before them all. Within the despair lies hope. What kind of future will they have? Will they ever be able to return home? Will they ever get their home and money back?
Also, how will their new lives change their perception of the past?
So many question.. all unanswered.
Congrats, Miss Dyer, on a show well-done! =]

*laughs* That show is interesting...
the post is also interesting, although rather false, since we merely have to read a book to find out how the story ended up, and yes, it was a happy ending in REAL life.
;-P
she was great, wasn't she? and you got to see her with the costumes and microphones and props and everything! (i'd be jealous if I wasn't so happy for her and for you all getting to go!) Yay Miss Dyer!!!
and weren't the kids cute???
thanks Ruthie...now i blush :)
gee shucks...thanks for coming...i am so sad it is over, it was such a wonderful journey...so neat to learn more about the true story too...very fun clips of the real Maria on the Julie Andrews show on u-tube and did you know that when the capt died, Maria and the oldest daughter went on the mission field for the Lord!
Harrison, the ending of the story couldn't possibly be in a book since it hasn't ended yet.
*ponders* ookay...
the entire family in the story is dead, though, am I not correct? Yes, their descendants live on... is that what you refer to?
yes. in a sense.
